Pascal’s law of pressure
• Pressure at any point is the same in all directions
• Proof of Pascal’s law
By considering a small element of fluid in the form of a triangular prism which
contains a point P, we can establish a relationship between the three pressures 𝑃𝑥
in the x direction, 𝑃𝑦 in the y direction and 𝑃𝑠
in the direction normal to the sloping
face, prove that the pressure at any point is the same in all directions
